🎨The color so nice I used it twice! And not even on purpose.

When we bought our house seven years ago this was a shitty laundry room. But we had laundry in the basement so I pulled up the yellowed vinyl flooring and subfloor (while wearing open-toed shoes, thank you very much!), painted the trashed wood floors gray, painted the walls a wonderful sagey green, and made it my office. At some point, it basically became a Monica Gellar closet... until I had my FIL paint a warm white over the green so I could turn it into a nursery for Teddy. A few years later, when he moved to his second-floor room, it became my closet/dressing room and that was THE BEST since I’d been living without a closet for six years. Then before Charlie was born, I went back to living out of laundry baskets so I could make it a nursery again.

ANYHOO, because I’m so fucking sick of all-white everything, I decided I wanted a soft green. After staring at 12 paint samples taped to the wall for at least a month (but probably more like two months), I decided on this color. I joked to Kyle that it was kinda like the color we painted over three years earlier and that I was the worst hahaha lololz.

HOWEVER it wasn’t until I removed the outlet covers and started painting that I realized it was almost the EXACT SAME COLOR 🙈— at least in semi-bad lighting at night.

It’s called Miracle Bay which I think is from a company called Columbus or maybe Davis, but the label also mentions Valspar. Whatever... I bought it at @sutherlands_kc and there’s a pic in my stories today.

The good news for you? If you dig it and can’t find it where you are, you can surely find Sherwin Williams Halcyon Green — the very similar color from two paint jobs ago.

FACT: If you’re a white lady selling an online course, you can’t launch without a picture of yourself joyously jumping on a couch or beach or some shit.

Okay, I kid, but real talk: I don’t like to be too salesy here, or anywhere, really — which I only learned after spending six months creating a course all about writing for social media. It turns out that while I LOVE marketing, I LOATHE sales. I don’t like pushing products on people, I refuse to turn my personal profiles into sales platforms, and I REALLY fucking hated all the Facebook ads I started getting once the algorithm learned I had my own course to sell.

That means the course I worked really hard on has mostly been parked (to the tune of $70/month) for a year. Until now. @officiallyquigley recently got in touch and asked if I’d offer my Social Media Writing 101 course as part of her July bundle and I figured, “Why the hell not? It’s just sitting there.” And I’m so glad I did. My course alone is usually $249, but this bundle — which has 33 great courses all about online marketing — is only $99.

☕️🍊I’ve been experimenting with different sous vide cold brew concoctions (I know, #nerdalert 🤓) and it reminded me I made this amaaaaaazing coffee and orange soda cocktail two summers ago. It might sound a little trashy but it tastes fancy AF and I call it the Cold Fashioned — which seemed really clever at the time but I could probably do better now. Link in bio.

P.S. Any interest in sous vide cocktail recipes or do I just need to stop being that asshole right this second?
